Defending America.
We are unwavering in our commitment to keep our communities, county, state, and nation safe, both at home and beyond our borders.

Education.
We are committed to availing every child in our communities, county, state, and nation with a world-class education, and supporting education with better funding, well-paid educators, and state-of-the-art resources.

Military Strength.
We will never deploy our troops without proper equipment and training, and we will fight to see that veterans and their families get the care they need and deserve.

Opportunity.
We are committed to expanding opportunity for each and every person in our communities, county, state, and nation, and creating well-paying jobs for the future.

Civil Liberties/Human Rights.
We believe fervently in protecting all the fundamental freedoms and values that make our communities, county, state, and nation great.

Responsibility.
We believe in government that is open, honest, ethical, and responsive. We are committed to peace, prosperity, and government whose actions set the world standard for democracy and human decency. We are committed to holding government accountable for its actions and to policies that protect precious environmental and natural resources for future generations -within and beyond our borders.

Affordable Healthcare.
We believe everyone in our communities, county, state, and nation deserves quality, affordable health care.

Tax Fairness/Fiscal Responsibility.
We protest shifting the tax burden onto lower and middle income citizens, inequitable tax cuts for the rich, and the huge burden placed on future generations by reckless deficits and foreign debt.

Social Security.
Our commitment to save and protect Social Security is absolute.

The Women's Democratic Club of Berkeley County was established in 1932. It was a founding chapter of the West Virginia Federation of Democratic Women in 1964. We are affiliated with both the WV Federation of Democratic Women and the National Federation of Democratic Women.

We are a diverse group of women working together to contribute to the growth and influence of the Democratic Party. We aggressively support the campaigns of Democratic candidates as well as the Democratic Party Platform.

Our involvement in political activities makes us more knowledgeable about the electoral process so that we may educate and influence our community, thus making a real difference here in Berkeley County. We actively encourage the involvement of women in the political process and support them when they take the leap to become candidates for public office. We embrace women’s issues.

We cooperate closely with the other two local Democratic organizations, the publicly elected Berkeley County Democratic Executive Committee, which is the official arm of the state Democratic Party, and the Berkeley County Democratic Association, which is an organization comprised of both men and women working to grow the Democratic Party in Berkeley County and to elect Democratic candidates.

We meet monthly, usually on the fourth Thursday. We sponsor an annual ‘Dues Tea’ in November where dues for the coming year are paid and members enjoy each others' company and delicious refreshments in a member’s home. Officers of the club are elected at this event. Additionally, each year we sponsor a dinner fundraiser that often features a nationally known speaker and provides opportunities to bid on unique auction items. Local businesses and individuals donate many items for auction and door prizes. This event is attended by state and nationally elected officials, other dignitaries and the general public, as well as our members and guests. During election years we are especially busy supporting Democratic candidates by volunteering and assisting them in many ways and by sponsoring events to increase public awareness of our organization and the principles upon which the Democratic Party was founded.

Membership in our organization is open to women residing in Berkeley County who are registered Democrats. Men may join as Associate Members. We hope that if you share our purpose and our goals you will consider joining us! Annual dues are $5.00, and a Lifetime Membership is $100.
