Berkeley County is located in WV's beautiful and historic Eastern Panhandle, about 90 miles from our nation's Capitol in Washington, DC, and it is often referred to as the Gateway to the Shenandoah Valley. Our organization is affiliated with the West Virginia Federation of Democratic Women and the National Federation of Democratic Women.

Our mission is to unite Democratic women of Berkeley County into a group working together for the success of the Democratic Party by

fostering a more active interest and participation in governmental affairs
promoting the fundamental principles for which the Democratic Party traditionally and historically stands - a government responsive and responsible to the people
developing leadership and promoting harmony within the Party ranks

OUR CURRENT PROJECT:

We are currently collecting old cellphones (working or not) to assist the Shenandoah Women's Center as they provide a much needed service to members of our community. Non-working phones are re-cycled, and the Center receives funds for these. Working phones are programmed to call only 911 and are given to clients to help ensure their safety. You may bring phones to any of our meetings or to meetings of the Berkeley County Democratic Association. You may also drop them off at Appalachian Institute, located at 413 S. Raleigh. Help us help women in need, please!

On Sunday, January 15, we will be celebrating the life of Martin Luther King, Jr. at a dinner in his honor at the Holiday Inn in Martinsburg, WV.
